Our Impact
Some non-profit organisations bring vital water to Africa. Some solve the Yemeni famine. Others protect the Amazon rainforest.
But Why Sunglasses?
Sunglasses offer relief for mountain People in many ways
increased Life satisfaction
Imagine a life without seeing your children growing up. Imagine a life in the great wide open without being able to see it. This is the widespread reality in high-altitude regions. By means of quality sunglasses, indigenous people in affected regions can simply see longer and live happier. Eyesight is often forgotten, but so valuable.
Preserved culture
Due to the hole in the ozone layer the harmful effects of UV radiation are worsening. This started a trend. Many folks increasingly settle in lower valleys. Homes, villages and cultures are left behind. The increased risk of blindness is a contributor. This leads to ‘ghost towns’ in the Andes, for example.
ensured Health
With sunglasses we can prevent severe ocular diseases. They drastically reduce the risk of infection, cancer and in some cases even death through eye cancer.
prolonged Workability & Education
Due to ocular diseases and blindness the vision of many people is severely impaired. Peruvian potato farmers, Nepalese yak herders, or Kashmiri craftswomen cannot pursue their work. This has consequences on household income. Oftentimes children have to replace their parents on the field and drop out of school. And so the cycle begins anew.
